Bulgarian satellite manufacturer EnduroSat has secured $205 million in new funding and won a contract to build spacecraft buses for Vantor’s Pulse constellation, strengthening the European commercial space sector’s capacity to deliver high-revisit Earth observation services.

What Happened

EnduroSat announced the $205 million fundraise, co-led by Riot Ventures and Atreides Management. The round included participation from the European Innovation Council, Google Ventures, Founders Fund, House Capital, Lux Capital, Omnes Capital, Giant Ventures, Emphatic Capital, and Endeavour Capital. This marks the company's third nine-figure funding round announced by a European company in the past two weeks, following Open Cosmos’ €300 million raise and The Exploration Company’s $450 million Series C.

The capital will fund the establishment of a new manufacturing facility in the United States, though a specific location has not yet been disclosed. Additionally, EnduroSat plans to construct "the EU’s largest and defense hub" in Sofia, Bulgaria. This expansion builds on the company's October announcement of a 188,000 sq. ft. Space Center designed to produce two satellites per day. The new funding will also enable the production of larger spacecraft.

Concurrent with the funding announcement, Vantor confirmed that it has selected EnduroSat and CACI to build its Pulse constellation. EnduroSat will provide the bus platforms for the 24-satellite network, while CACI will supply the imaging payloads. The constellation aims to deliver Earth observation imagery from 40-cm class satellites with a revisit time of every 15 minutes.

Why It Matters

The deal highlights significant investor confidence in the European satellite manufacturing sector, with three nine-figure rounds occurring in a two-week span. For EnduroSat, the expansion into the US market is a critical step in scaling operations to meet increased demand from defense and commercial clients, positioning the company closer to major US space hubs.

The Vantor Pulse constellation’s 15-minute revisit capability positions it as a specialized intelligence and monitoring asset. By partnering with CACI for payloads and EnduroSat for buses, Vantor is building a high-frequency Earth observation network that addresses specific commercial and defense needs distinct from general-purpose connectivity services.

The Bottom Line

EnduroSat's $205 million raise and contract win with Vantor underscore a period of rapid growth for European satellite manufacturers. The development highlights the expanding commercial space ecosystem where specialized Earth observation networks are attracting significant capital and establishing new manufacturing footprints in both Europe and the United States.
